Voluntary or batch?
Have it anyway you want!
Is voluntary milking your ideal way to milk, or would you prefer batch milking? With DeLaval AMR you get to choose your milking method. Whether you milk around the clock or shut the AMR down every night, you still get the same high milk yield results with minimal labour requirements. Should you choose to manually milk some of your cows with AMR, you still can.
Staff can do other jobs in the barn instead of the physically-demanding milking chores. They can round up cows for milking, clean cubicles, feed cows or monitor the milking process while your cows are being milked.
The result: up to 50% labour savings, improved morale and job satisfaction, as well as considerably lower milk-harvesting costs.
5 task specific robots
With just five task-specific robots we ensure that the risk of cross-contamination between cows – via cups and milk lines – is kept to a minimum. With specialised robots each milking task is performed optimally.
Our task specific robots handle cows correctly and consistently at every stage of the milking. This promotes teat health and calmer cows and can result in improved milk quality and quantity. All of the robots are equipped with an advanced 3D camera so the teats are identified and found from the very first milking.
Cleaning and pre-milking
Cleaning, pre-milking and drying of teats are tasks performed by the special teat preparation cup. Fast and effective cleaning and pre-milking promotes healthy teats and stimulates fast milk let-down.
Cleaning and pre-milking
Cup attachment is precise and gentle – regardless of teat shape or size. The calm and consistent motion of the robots helps cows relax throughout milking.

True quarter milking
If you want to maximise milk extraction in the most effective and healthy manner possible, true quarter milking is a must. Each teat is fully milked and the individual cup take-off prevents over milking. This is good for teat ends and ensures that maximum milk yield is harvested after each milking. Milk from each teat is monitored and analysed for flow rate, milk yield, blood and conductivity levels.
Teats are accurately sprayed and protected until the next milking. This helps minimise mastitis, which in turn safeguards cow health and milk quality.

A milking revolution
The cow is now fully milked. She is automatically guided back to the barn or diverted for special attention by the use of DeLaval smart selection gates. The bail, as well as the four teat cups, are automatically flushed clean before the next cow enters.
DeLaval AMR™ is managed and controlled with DeLaval DelPro™ Farm Manager. It connects the different areas of your barn – feeding, reproduction, herd health, milking, and performance – and records, analyses and monitors data from them to help you make all those important farm management decisions.
